Associate Professor Matija Mato Škerbić, PhD, from the Department of Philosophy and Cultural Studies at the Faculty of Croatian Studies, University of Zagreb, participated as one of the invited speakers at an international forum dedicated to the topic of the Enhanced Games, held on 19 May 2026 at the Faculty of Applied Sciences (Faculdade de Ciências Aplicadas) of the State University of Campinas (Universidade Estadual de Campinas – UNICAMP) in Limeira, Brazil.
The forum, organised by Professor Marcus Campos, brought together a large number of students, faculty members, researchers and professionals from several Brazilian universities. The event featured participants from a wide range of disciplines, including medicine, biomechanics, philosophy, ethics, nutrition and sports science, fostering a genuinely interdisciplinary dialogue on contemporary challenges related to the enhancement of athletic performance, integrity in sport and the ethical implications of applying new technologies in sport. During his stay in Brazil, Professor Škerbić also delivered a guest lecture to students at the Faculty of Physical Education, at the invitation of Professor Odilon José Roble.
As part of his visit to UNICAMP, Professor Škerbić also attended a meeting with the University’s Vice-Rector, Professor Fernando Antonio Santos Coelho, as well as representatives of the Executive Directorate of International Relations (DERI), the Faculty of Physical Education (FEF) and the Faculty of Applied Sciences (FCA). The meeting highlighted a mutual interest in establishing and further developing cooperation between UNICAMP and the Faculty of Croatian Studies, particularly in the areas of student and staff mobility and joint participation in international scientific and research projects.
