5th International Summer School of the Latin Language and Croatian Neo-Latin Culture
The University of Zagreb Faculty of Croatian Studies, in collaboration with the Institute for the Promotion of Humanism Amygdala, is pleased to announce the 5th International Summer School of the Latin Language and Croatian Neo-Latin Culture, which will take place at the Akademis Academia in Dubrovnik from 13 to 23 July 2026.
Concept and Aims of the School
The school is designed for undergraduate, graduate, and doctoral students, as well as for anyone who wishes to gain knowledge of the Latin language. The teaching approach is based on the inductive speaking method Lingua Latina per se illustrata. In addition to mastering the basics of the Latin language, the mission of the school is to present Croatian Latinist authors and their texts, which are studied through various workshops.

Lectures and Activities
The school is organised by Petar Uskovic Croata (University of Zagreb Faculty of Croatian Studies). Classes are held daily and last four hours. Activities are conducted in Latin or English.
Who Can Apply?
The programme is intended for BA, MA, and PhD students as well as all interested participants.
Venue and Accommodation
Participants are accommodated at Akademis Center in Dubrovnik. Travel is arranged independently.

Participation fee: €970 (includes accommodation, lectures, materials).

Beginner Course
Participants are not required to have prior knowledge of Latin. The course follows the first chapters of Familia Romana.

Advanced Course
Participants are expected to have basic knowledge of Latin. The course develops advanced reading and comprehension skills.
