Dora Korać, MSc in Psychology, a teaching assistant at the Department of Psychology, participated in the 19th International Conference on Motivation and Emotion (ICM 2026), held in Lisbon, Portugal, from 22 to 24 June 2026.
This year’s conference focused on changes in motivational and emotional processes in learning and teaching in contemporary society, with particular emphasis on the growing role of digital technologies and artificial intelligence.
Korać presented the findings of the study Math Anxiety and Performance: The Mediating Role of Task-Related Emotions and Working Memory. The presentation examined the complex relationships between mathematics anxiety, state emotions, and the cognitive processes involved in solving problem-based tasks. It also introduced a working-memory assessment tool developed specifically for the purposes of the study.
Participation in the conference provided an opportunity to exchange research findings with scholars from different countries and to gain insight into the latest developments in the study of motivation and emotion within contemporary educational contexts.
