Faculty members from the Department of Demography and Croatian Diaspora—Associate Professor Wollfy Krašić, Assistant Professor Monika Balija Vincek, and Tamara Bodor, PhD—participated in the 7th Croatian Emigrant Congress, held in Vukovar from 25 to 28 June 2026 and organised by the Centre for Croatian Emigration Studies.

The conference programme also included a presentation by the Department’s former Head, Assistant Professor Stjepan Šterc, as well as by Anamarija Jasak, a former student and alumna of the Demography and Croatian Diaspora programme.

The congress in Vukovar provided an opportunity for members of the Croatian diaspora and representatives from Croatia to meet, exchange experiences, and establish new contacts. It also brought together researchers studying migration processes and Croatian emigration, government officials, and media professionals reporting on Croats living outside the Republic of Croatia.
