Krešimir Dabo graduated in Economics from the Zagreb School of Management, majoring in Tourism Management. At VERN’ University, he completed a specialist graduate programme in Business Communication Management, followed by a university graduate programme in Communication Studies and Public Relations at University North. He obtained his PhD in Communication Studies from the Josip Juraj Strossmayer University of Osijek. In addition to his formal academic education, he completed a one-year programme at the Centre for Peace Studies in Zagreb. He began his professional career in journalism, working for several media outlets, including Radio Student, Croatian Radio, Z1 Television, and RTL Television. He later moved into the field of public relations, where he worked in the Public Relations Department of RTL Television, and subsequently as Head of Public Relations and Marketing at the LADO Ensemble – National Folk Dance Ensemble of Croatia. From 2015 to 2018, he served as Director of the LADO Ensemble. In higher education, he has held a number of teaching and managerial positions, including the role of Head of the Tourism Department at Edward Bernays University of Applied Sciences. He was employed as an Associate Professor at the Department of Applied Communication Sciences at the University of Zadar, and since 1 March 2026 he has been permanently employed as an Associate Professor at the Department of Communication Studies, Faculty of Croatian Studies, University of Zagreb. He also teaches as an external lecturer at several higher education institutions. His research and teaching interests focus on public relations, strategic communication, cultural identity, tourism destination branding, media discourse, and interpersonal communication. He has participated in several scientific research projects and served as the principal investigator of the project Cultural Identities and the Branding of Tourist Destinations of Istria and Hrvatsko Primorje. He served as Editor-in-Chief of the international scientific journal Communication Management Review, as well as of the proceedings of the International Scientific and Professional Conference “Continental Croatia: Historical Context, Current Issues and Future Perspectives.” He is also a member of the editorial boards of several international scientific journals. Alongside his academic and teaching work, he actively participates in professional bodies in the fields of communication sciences and psychotherapy. He is a licensed mediator and a counselling therapist in reality therapy.
