He obtained his PhD in Sociology in 2013 at the Faculty of Humanities and Social Sciences, University of Zagreb. From 2008 to 2015, he was employed at the Ivo Pilar Institute of Social Sciences on the project Public Opinion and Mass Communication Research. Between 2015 and 2019, he worked at the Department of Sociology, Catholic University of Croatia. From 2019 to 2024, he was affiliated with the Department of Sociology at the Faculty of Croatian Studies, University of Zagreb. Since 2024, he has been employed at the Institute for Migration Research.
In 2015, he was appointed Assistant Professor in Sociology, specializing in Sociological Methodology. In 2020, he was promoted to Associate Professor in the same field. In 2024, he was appointed Associate Professor in Communication Sciences at Alma Mater Europaea University in Maribor.
He teaches a range of courses in the field of social research methodology and statistics at undergraduate, graduate, and postgraduate levels at the University of Zagreb, University North, the Catholic University of Croatia, and Alma Mater Europaea in Slovenia.
He is the author or co-author of 80 scientific and professional papers and has participated in numerous national and international research projects. Notable among these are three research projects funded by the Croatian Science Foundation: CRO-WELL: Croatian Longitudinal Well-being Study, NETCOMM: Networks of Public Communication in Croatia – Mediatization of the Public Sphere and the Challenges of New Media, and EfFICAcY: Enhancing the Financial Capability of Young Consumers through Educational Programs and Behavioral Interventions.
From 2020 to 2022, he served as Editor-in-Chief of the journal Kroatologija, published by the Faculty of Croatian Studies. Since 2017, he has been a member of the Croatian team and has served as fieldwork coordinator and sampling director in the European Values Study project. He is currently the Editor-in-Chief of the journal Ethnic and Migration Studies. He also leads the institutional project Quality of Life of Foreign Workers from Asia in Croatia, conducted at the Institute for Migration Research.
Scientific interest: Methodology of social research, statistics, sociology of migration, sociology of media, sociology of risk, communication studies.
