Assoc. Prof. Dr. Andreja Sršen is a university lecturer and researcher at the Department of Sociology and served as Acting Vice-Dean for Science at the Faculty of Croatian Studies, University of Zagreb (academic year 2024/2025). At the Department of Sociology, she teaches the following courses: Geopolitics, Global Security and Climate Change, EU Sustainable Development Policies, EU Institutions, Sociology of Croatian Society 1; 5, European Union and Civil Society, Sociology of Politics, and International Relations. She collaborates with the Office of the European Parliament in Croatia and participated in the initiative for signing a Cooperation Agreement between the Office of the European Parliament in Croatia and the Faculty of Croatian Studies, University of Zagreb. She is also a collaborator on the course Integral Ecology at the Croatian Catholic University.
After completing postgraduate studies in International Relations at the Faculty of Political Science, University of Zagreb, in 2004 she defended her master's thesis Opportunities and Perspectives of Regional Cooperation in Southeast Europe, earning the academic degree of Master of Science in Social Sciences, field of Political Science, majoring in International Relations.
Since September 2017, she has represented the University of Zagreb in the Committee for the Implementation of the Agreement between the Central State Office for Croats Abroad and the University of Zagreb. In 2021, she was appointed a member of the Working Group for drafting the Demographic Revitalization Strategy of the Republic of Croatia until 2031 at the Central State Office for Demography and Youth.
She participated in the development of the lifelong learning program Laudato Si’ – Dialogue Towards Integral Ecology in the academic year 2020/2021 at the Croatian Catholic University.
She is the head of the joint lifelong learning program Climate Change and Security Challenges in cooperation with the University of Defence and Security “Dr. Franjo Tuđman.”
She pursued scientific training in Rome in the academic year 2021/2022 and completed the Joint Diploma in Ecologia Integrale at the Pontifical Gregorian University.
Some of the international and domestic projects she has participated in include: The Balkans Cooperation, Geopolitics, and Economic Transformations and Relations (2022, participant); Database of Catholic Publications in the Croatian Digital Media Space (2024, participant); Environment and Social Justice (2022, participant); Various Forms of Community, Historical and Contemporary Contributions of Connecting Croats and the Catholic Church in Rome (2021, project leader); Europe and the Culture of Memory (2019, project leader); CRO Laudato Si’ – Caring for Our Home (2019, participant).
From July 9, 2024, to October 31, 2024, she served as Assistant Rector and Acting Vice-Dean for Science, and on November 1, 2024, by decision of the Faculty Council, she was appointed Acting Vice-Dean for Science at the Faculty of Croatian Studies, University of Zagreb.
