It is our greatest pleasure to invite you on behalf of the Masaryk University to the Mendel Genetics Conference (www.mendel22.cz/conference/), which takes place on 20–23 July 2022 in Brno, Czech Republic, commemorating the bicentennial of the birth of Gregor Johann Mendel, the father of modern genetics, whose life and research are inextricably linked with Brno.

Programme and speakers

This UNESCO-acknowledged multidisciplinary genetic event will present discussions on discoveries sparked by Mendel’s own work, including human genetics (inherited diseases, cancer genetics and gene therapy), plant and animal genetics, emerging technologies in genetic research, ethical questions, and history of genetics. For more, see the preliminary programme (www.mendel22.cz/about-conference/?anchor=preliminary-program).

We are happy to be joined by esteemed experts on the subject, Nobel Prize laureates among them (prof. Ada E. Yonath from Weizmann Institute of Science, prof. Thomas Cech from University of Colorado and sir Paul Nurse from The Francis Crick Institute), to present at the conference. See our list of speakers (www.mendel22.cz/about-conference/?anchor=speakers) to learn more.
