The aim of this course is to introduce students to the concept of global antiquity and to equip them with the tools to study ancient societies beyond traditional Eurocentric frameworks. Through three key approaches-global, comparative, and entangled-students will explore intercultural connections, knowledge transfers, encounters, and shared historical experiences among ancient societies across the world. The course promotes interdisciplinary learning by bringing together scholars from archaeology, history, anthropology, linguistics, and art history. It is delivered online and focuses on integrating insights from four core disciplines: history, archaeology, literature, and art history. |
