About Us

The Department of Sociology was established in 1992 and is one of the core disciplines of the Faculty of Croatian Studies. The concept of sociology studies focuses on the application of sociological theories and social science methodology for understanding social processes and phenomena in the specific context of Croatian society and comparatively in a European and global perspective. The study of sociology aims to train highly qualified sociological research personnel with professional research and analytical skills necessary for productive work in the public and private sectors. The sociology program at the bachelor's and master's levels is organized according to current international scientific standards.

Announcement: Presentation of NATO’s Employment, Internship and Young Professionals Programmes

On Friday, 9 October, from 9:35 to 11:00 a.m., a presentation of NATO’s employment, internship and young professionals programmes will take place in the Zagreb lecture hall, co-organised with the Ministry of Foreign and European Affairs of the Republic of Croatia.

Dorina Prasta from NATO’s Recruitment Team will present NATO’s recruitment and selection procedures, with a particular focus on programmes for interns and young professionals.

Hrvoje Tomšić, Staff Officer (ISR) in the Armaments and Major Capability Programmes – Air Section, Defence Industry, Innovation & Armaments Division, will share his personal experience of the selection process and offer insights into day-to-day work and career development within the organisation.

The event offers students and early-career researchers an opportunity to learn first-hand about international career opportunities, application procedures and working at NATO.

All interested students, early-career researchers and teaching staff are invited to attend. Teaching staff are also encouraged to share this information with their students and invite them to participate.
