Marko Prpić graduated in Croatian Studies and Sociology from the Faculty of Croatian Studies at the University of Zagreb. He is currently pursuing a postgraduate doctoral programme in Prevention Science and Disability Studies at the Faculty of Education and Rehabilitation Sciences, University of Zagreb.
He works as a Croatian language teacher at Središće Primary School in Zagreb, where he also serves as the coordinator of the school’s prevention strategy and the coordinator of the SHE project. In October 2025, he was promoted to the professional rank of Teacher Mentor and became a mentor to students enrolled in the teacher education track in Croatian Studies, supervising their teaching practice at the school.
He is the author and co-author of several research papers published in Croatian and international academic journals and has participated in numerous conferences in Croatia and abroad. He is a recipient of the University of Zagreb Rector’s Award in the category of individual research, as well as several Dean’s Awards for outstanding student contributions and organisational activities beyond regular academic requirements. He has also received international awards for his research, including First Prize from the International Section of the Academy of Criminal Justice Sciences (USA, 2019) and Second Prize from the Division of International Criminology of the American Society of Criminology (USA, 2017).
In his academic and professional work, he connects educational practice with the field of prevention science, exploring factors that contribute to a positive school climate and to the development of safe and supportive environments for children and young people, as well as positive and stimulating working environments.
